584th anniversary of Alisher Navoi

  Today, February 9, is the 584th anniversary of the birth of the great poet, great thinker, statesman and great symbol of human spirituality, Alisher Navoi.

            The teachings of our grandfather Navoi, “Attention to the language is attention to the people,” encourage today’s youth to value and glorify their native language. In his time, he proved the greatness of the Turkic language and paved the way for it to become a language of science and literature. Today, we also set ourselves the important goal of developing our language and elevating it through science and education. The young people, who are the future of new Uzbekistan, should live Navoi’s legacy not only on the pages of books, but also in their lives and enjoy its spiritual wealth.
          The invaluable creative and scientific heritage of the great poet and thinker, prominent statesman and public figure Alisher Navoi occupies a special place not only in the history of our people, but also in the history of world literature, in the development of our national culture and literary and aesthetic thinking. The great poet, in his poetic and prose works, expressed high universal ideas, the incomparable wealth of vocabulary and unlimited expressive possibilities of our native language with all its charm and grace, and took a worthy and firm place in the hearts of millions of readers around the world.
