Our Republic is the youngest in terms of the average age of the population, about 41% of the population are children and adolescents. Therefore, a general practitioner has to devote a lot of time to children's problems in his daily practice. The first president of our republic, Islam Karimov, pays great attention to measures to improve the health of mothers and children, because a healthy mother gives birth to a healthy child, and a healthy generation is the future of the country. In our department, age-related anatomical and physiological features of the children's body, principles of proper feeding of healthy and sick children, monitoring of physical development, methods of early diagnosis and treatment of common diseases among children, ways to prevent children's diseases is taught.

Children's health, early diagnosis, treatment and dispensary control of common diseases among children occupy the main place in the regular activities of a general practitioner. For this reason, the subject "Pediatrics" is included in the general practitioner training program. 3rd-4th year students of treatment and medical-pedagogical faculties, 4th year students of medical prevention faculty study in the "Children's diseases" department.

Goals and objectives:

The science of pediatrics belongs to the complex of general professional sciences, and it is taught in II-X semesters.

The purpose of the subject is to develop students' skills in communication with healthy and sick children of different ages and their parents, examination of children, physical monitoring, diagnosis, treatment, preventive and rehabilitation measures of childhood diseases. .

Tasks of science:

teaching to communicate with healthy and sick children and their parents;
teaching the etiology, pathogenesis, classification, clinical manifestations, complications, principles of treatment of children's diseases;
drawing up a plan of inspection methods and specifying the tactics of the GP;
teaching to make a clinical diagnosis and make a comparative comparison;
formation of knowledge on rehabilitation of sick children.
Educational bases of the department:

Pediatrics is conducted in the 14th children's building of the multidisciplinary clinic of TMA, and the base of the department is in the Temir Yular children's hospital in Tashkent. The clinic has polyclinic, allergology, pulmonology, cardiorheumatology, nephrology, infant department, infant department, resuscitation and intensive care departments. Practical training is conducted in rooms equipped with modern computers. The department has a video projector for presentations. All computers are connected to the Internet through a 3G Modem. Classes for teaching practical skills are conducted in a specially organized laboratory. This laboratory has dummies and thematic stands. During the practical lesson, students are shown patients and videos on the subject.

The composition of the department: Today, one professor, 7 associate professors, 3 senior teachers and 4 assistants work in the department. The scientific competence of the department is 73%.
